For many years, the energy sector has been missing a raison d'etre and now finally there is the clear call for that to be justice. The focus of this international event will be to improve just outcomes at local, national and international levels. The conference is part of the energy justice research team at the Université de Pau et des Pays de l'Adour, France and this year partnered with Ecole Centrale Casablanca, Morocco.
Our view is that in its simplest form, energy justice is about the application of human rights throughout the energy life cycle, i.e. from extraction to production, from exploitation (and supply) to consumption and waste management (including decommissioning).
It is within these activities that researchers are invited to submit their abstracts as they relate to interdisciplinary issues across the spheres of Energy Justice Theory, Society (Gender & Socio-Economic Policies), Extractives & Critical Minerals, Sustainable Mobility, Renewable Energy, Hydrogen, Water, Bio-Resources & Forests, Risk, Finance & Taxation, Green Just Transition.
We look forward to welcoming you to the Morocco later this year for the 2nd World Energy Justice Congress 2024.
